Thomas E. Bentzel entered
the Florida construction market in 1969 as Vice President of Hill York Air
Conditioning Co. Prior to the move to Florida, Tom spent 20 years employed by
York (manufacturer of air conditioning equipment) in various positions in
manufacturing, sales, and service. In 1976 Astron Mechanical was established with
Tom as the President and founder. This firm grew to one of the largest
mechanical contracting firms on the west coast. In 1984 Astron Mechanical was
purchased by Fischbach Corporation with Tom continuing as President and Chairman
of the Board until 1989. In 1989 Tom was instrumental in forming Bentzel
Mechanical Inc. and continues as CEO.
Robert T. Bentzel began his
career in construction as an apprentice plumber in 1973 with Hill York Air
Conditioning Co. Bob joined Astron Mechanical Inc. in 1977 and, after running a
number of projects, moved to Naples as Field Superintendent for the Naples
branch operations. When the branch office was closed, Bob moved back to the Bay
Area as a Project Manager covering a wide range of projects. With the formation
of Bentzel Mechanical Inc., Bob was appointed Senior Project Manager and has
taken on additional management responsibilities. Bob holds Mechanical, Plumbing,
and LP Gas Licenses in the State of Florida.
Douglas Peregoy entered the construction field as a Plumber/Pipe Fitter apprentice in
1953. After working as a Journeyman for 10 years Doug was hired as a Foreman and
later a Field Superintendent for Hill York Air Conditioning Co. When Astron
Mechanical Inc. was formed, Doug was appointed Vice President of Field
Operations covering both plumbing and air conditioning projects throughout the
State of Florida. In 1989 Doug was one of the founders of Bentzel Mechanical
Inc. and continues to handle field operations and the labor force. Doug has also
used his acquired skills in developing our retrofit market.
Jan has been in the accounting management field since 1985. In 1991 Jan entered the field of
construction business accounting. Jan's background includes human resource
skills along with an extensive list of computer applications and financial
experience. Jan joined the Bentzel team in 1998.
Roger has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and has a Master Plumbing License in Kansas City. Roger was Vice President of Operations for Quality Plumbing, Inc. and then moved on as project manager / estimator for A.D. Jacobson Company, Inc. in Lenexa, Kansas. Experience covers a wide range of plumbing and mechanical work in commercial, institutional, industrial and utilities. In 2000, Roger was hired as a project manager for Bentzel Mechanical.
Keith was employed by Astron Mechanical, Inc. in 1977 as an HVAC apprentice with the ABC Apprenticeship Program. Keith continued as a startup / service technician until 1982 at which time he entered the Control Division as Project Engineer for various projects throughout the state. In 1987 Keith was hired by Tampa Bay Trane as Controls Engineer and progressed to Project Engineer and finally Project Manager where he managed major projects such as Tropicana Field, Saddlebrook Resort, Palm Harbor University High School, etc. In 1999 Keith was hired as a Project Manager for Bentzel Mechanical.
Warren's career in the HVAC Industry began in 1971. He is certified in Temperature Controls wiring, commercial refrigeration and Liebert, Carrier & Trane equipment. Warren holds a National Air Balance Certification. Warren joined the Bentzel Team in 1998.
Don was born and raised in Tampa. He started his Plumbing Apprenticeship in 1980 with Astron Mechanical, Inc. and received his Journeyman Plumber License in 1984. By 1986 Don was running both Plumbing and Mechanical Projects for Astron Mechanical. In 1990 Don came to work for Bentzel Mechanical as a Project Foreman on Health Care. Research Facilities, Hotels, Performing Arts, and many other projects. In 1999 Don was promoted to Field Superintendent covering various Plan & Spec and Retrofit Projects and their associated personnel.
Robbie started his construction experience as an apprentice plumber in 1959 and worked his way up the ladder as a Plumber / Fitter, Job Foreman, General Superintendent, Project Manager, and Senior Estimator. He worked at Astron Mechanical and has been with Bentzel Mechanical since 1993. Robbie holds a Master Plumbing License since 1965 and is a State Certified Plumbing Contractor.
